How We Protect Your Belongings During Pickup and Storage
10/5/2026 · EcoStorage Team
From the moment our team arrives at your door to the day your items come home, here's exactly how we keep everything safe.
Storing your belongings with someone else requires trust, especially since you can't check on them yourself while they're in our care. How we handle, wrap, and store your items matters just as much as where we store them.
Every standard item goes onto a 100% recycled wooden pallet and gets bundled with industrial shrink wrap. This keeps your belongings off the warehouse floor and physically separated from every other customer's pallet. Your items stay in their own sealed bundle from pickup to return.
Furniture and awkward-shaped pieces get wrapped individually at your home, before they ever leave for the warehouse. Your sofa, mattress, or cabinet stays cushioned for the entire journey, not just the time it spends in storage.
Items sensitive to temperature, humidity, or light, artwork, musical instruments, certain electronics, qualify for our wooden crate storage upgrade. Crates are fully enclosed with swinging doors, giving these items a controlled environment beyond what standard pallet storage offers.
Most of our warehouse runs at ambient temperature rather than 24/7 air-conditioning. This is a deliberate choice that keeps our carbon footprint meaningfully lower than lock-and-key competitors who condition every square foot, and it works because most household and business items handle ambient conditions just fine. We reserve climate control, about 15% of our total space, for items that genuinely need it.
The physical journey matters as much as the wrapping itself. Pallets get loaded and strapped down in the truck in a specific order, so nothing shifts or gets crushed under heavier items in transit, and nothing gets unloaded and re-stacked more times than necessary between your door and its spot on the warehouse shelf.
Every pallet and crate gets logged against your account at pickup, so when you request something back, our team is retrieving a specific, tracked bundle, not searching a warehouse by memory. That tracking is also what makes partial extraction possible without touching the rest of your stored items.
If something does arrive damaged despite our handling, tell us as soon as you notice, ideally at the point of return delivery while our team is still there to document it. We'd rather deal with an issue immediately than try to reconstruct what happened weeks later.
Unsure which storage method fits a specific item? Ask our team before pickup. Getting the method right on day one beats troubleshooting it months into storage.
